Who am I?

Hello everyone, my name is Rob and I’m running to be your #1 Sabatical choice!
I am currently the Vice-President (Education and Representation) who has been representing students, institutionally, regionally and nationally for the past year. Many of you may recognise my friendly face, be it educationally or even socially – lucky you!

Why am I running?

This current year i feel that we haven’t maximised our potential in delivering the best to you; the students here at Bolton. A few of you may feel that you have had a good year and are grateful for what you have received; be it through entertainment, education, welfare, representation. However many students still see the UBSU as an irrelevance. With me as your first choice I feel that I can do better to change this ethos!

Next year will be crucial in how the SU will be able to deliver its promises and offer its ongoing support. As you may be aware the Students’ Unions Block Grant will have an additional cut on top of what was taken this year. This money plays a key financial part in funding our yearly activities and on goings! Keeping this in mind I feel I am the most realistic candidate to deal with all our future and present issues. Having invaluable insights into the workings of UBSU and the university itself, I am a proven leader, a hard worker, and I know how to achieve my goals.

Why me?

We need to make a reinforcement of the current open-door policy, but to also expand it further, making a more face-forward impact and interactive and proactive approach with students on a daily basis. We are still a relatively small University, and keeping an intimate bond with the students is key. The UBSU should have a more direct and indirect impact on providing a positive influence on the lives of all students, acting as a hub, a constant, by reaching out and engaging us all in a range of events and activities, and generally keeping a well maintained atmosphere, with strong support. I have the vision and driving power and will to provide the best experience and service for our students.
I am open, honest, motivated and realistic. I will do my utmost to cater for everyone.
